Meeting Held In Yukon For Trade Talks

A three-day meeting which was attended by dignitaries in Canada and other regional heads was held at Yukon. Alberta Premier Rachel Notley happened to be present at the meeting of the premiers in Whitehorse, Yukon. The meeting was held to talk and address various issues as well as the government’s intention of putting a price tag on trade blockades, which includes both inter-provincial and carbon plus and says to have the inter-provincial trade barriers reduced. The discussion also included the previous dispute that took place between Saskatchewan Premier Brad Wall and Alberta Premier Rachel Notley concerning the cost of beer. Wall wasn’t too happy with the decision Notley is planning on taking, which involves putting the increasing the price of beer. It will have the producers in the provinces pay a price and could cause other retalialatory efforts.

In order to strike a free trade agreement with the United Kingdom after their vote to leave the EU, Darrell Pasloski who is also a Yukon Premier is trying to set up a trade mission of all premiers to the United Kingdom in the early months of the year 2017. The meeting also included the reveiw of ‘terms of reference for a national inquiry into the absence and murder of a foreign lady.’

The leaders are being very cautious and working together as a team with the government’s ‘roadmap for an inquiry’.
