Vanity or Survival, Concrete or Food

The real estate market has been so self-absorbed with its well-being that, that of the farmers is being neglected. Farmers have been a dying breed in the developed world for the last decade and now their extinction might just be solidified. All the land is being sold for the construction of more concrete buildings but I guess humans don’t have to eat to survive anymore. Prices of farmlands in Vancouver, specifically, the metro are so ridiculously high I cannot believe I actually have to type this: $150,000 to $350,000 Canadian dollars!

And to make matters worse, the majority of farmlands are not owned by farmers anymore.

In times not too long ago, this amount would have probably fetched half a dozen if not more lands!

No matter all these ‘gourmet’ restaurants and ‘wholefood’ stores are super expensive.

The farmers in the province of British Columbia might either change professions or move to another part of the country or maybe, to one of the farming states in their backyard. Or is it front yard? I guess it depends on where you are standing. I’m talking about the U.S. folks.
