The Canadian government in an effort to boost on global competitiveness has taken the initiative to improve on the manufacturing sector through innovation and improving on skills training with Budget 2017.

According to Dennis Darby, CME President and CEO, the Budget 2017 will help in developing innovation which will in turn boost productivity and also give manufactures a wide range of alternatives to improve on their companies.

Advancement in manufacturing and trade will not only benefit manufacturers but also middle-class Canadians.

It is very pleasing to be aware of the fact that the Government of Canada is showing concern the industry is making efforts to put measures in place to advance manufacturing.

Furthermore, the government is also trying to develop the manufacturing industry so that Canadian manufacturing companies will match up to other global manufacturing industries.

Canadian manufacturers will also work hand in glove with the government to actualize this recommendation. The government will also work with manufacturers to determine the cost and the risk involved in getting the work done.

The Budget 2017 also encourages manufacturers to spend more on wide range skills training which hinders more jobs to be made available.  This has been evident as more manufacturing firms have reported of shortage of skilled workers which limits production.
