McDonald’s Training Now A Stepping Stone To Obtaining A College Diploma

One of the world’s most popular fast-food restaurants is now becoming a useful bridge for employees in pursuit of a college diploma.

Colleges in Ontario and McDonald’s Restaurants of Canada Ltd have come to the agreement that management training offered by McDonald’s to its employees can now count towards the fulfilment of a college diploma in the field of business administration.

The colleges agree that the completion of at least two of the four management courses available at McDonald’s is equivalent to completing all first year courses in a two or three year business program. This is mainly due to the fact that certain aspects of McDonald’s’ management training are directly in line with college business administration’s first year course content. Lessons on communication skills, leadership and management are an integral part of the training offered in both McDonald’s as well as Ontario College institutions.

Another perk is students who have received such management qualifications can also save up first year tuition costs as they are eligible to advance straight to their second year. Acclaimed credentials from McDonald’s will be accepted in all 24 public colleges in Ontario come September.
