Debt Issue Becomes A Concern For Calgary Distress Centres

There has been a finding by those assisting people going through financial problems in Calgary that it’s becoming harder as the number the people found in a hard situation increase on a daily basis.

The Calgary Distress Centre said they’ve been noticing a large number of customers calling their helpline in need of assistance and financial need to make ends meet and for their livelihood.

The manager of the clinical service, David Kirby told the Calgary Herald; “These are people who were doing pretty well and now are increasingly exhausting personal savings and still finding it very difficult to get their basic needs met, whether that’s rent, mortgage or utilities.”

The issue has aggravated to the extent that those that never thought they’d have to decide between having their utilities linked and meeting a mortgage payment are now left with no other choice than to make a decision between the two.
