NEB seeks to expand pipeline emergency plans.
The National Energy Board says it will require companies making pipeline applications to give more detail on their emergency response plans.
The rule changes are being made because of constant requests from members at its late public hearings, says the government regulator.
It launched a 60-day online open remark period Wednesday to assemble contribution to be utilized as a part of the last draft of its decision.
The new principles are relied upon to require more data at the application stage covering emergency management, project-specific emergency preparedness and online presentation of emergency procedures manuals.
NEB CEO Peter Watson says the progressions will cultivate expanded comprehension among partners, listening to members, NEB specialists and board individuals in regards to emergency planning.
The new regulations are relied upon to be set up by early summer.
