6 Money Wasters that you should watch out for

Mini-supermarkets

We all have needs—deodorants, toilet paper, etc., but there is something convenient about convenient stores that make us buy things we don’t need or even, want simply because our eyes see ’em!

Cell Phone Plans

I highly recommend pre-paid plans. This way, you can gauge yourself as to how to use your allocated airtime.

Pointless snacking

I, just like anyone else, likes to snack from time to time. But if you are just mindlessly buying potato chips, chocolate bars, popcorn and what-have-you. If you are a chronic snacker, snack for a month then count the amount of money you have spent. Trust me, you’ll be shocked.

Extra Bank Fees

You may not know this but you might be paying your bank(s) extra fees that are completely unnecessary. For e.g., some of the banks charge ATM fees for using another bank’s ATM.

Magazines

There is nothing wrong with having a monthly subscribing to any one of the hundred magazines out there but make sure that they are not many.

Annual Credit Card Fees

Unless you have a bad credit score, there is really no point in paying annual credit card fees. Unless you’re filthy rich or an exclusive holder of an elite-level credit card with exclusive perks, most people should not be paying annual credit card fees.

Make sure to pay your bills on time. Do not become delinquent.

The Bottom Line

Create a budget and stick to it.
