Canadians To Pay Off Mortgage Earlier

An opinion poll by CIBC exposed that most Canadians said that getting their mortgage paid off earlier was an important financial objective. Those with a financial plan, had their top priority as saving for retirement, while getting rid of credit card and other outstanding debt, together with resolving the home loan.

Sarah Widmeyer, the Managing Director and Head of Wealth Strategies of CIBC said; “While most of us have a fairly good sense of our financial goals, so many Canadians do not have a clear roadmap in place to accomplish what they want now and in the not too distant future.”

Those in particular who have no observable financial strategy, 80% are self-assured that they have the prerequisite capabilities to keep it together in case of a home repair emergency and 58% are very well certain of their management skills if any member of their household becomes unemployed.
