Vancouver Mining Firm Installs 85 MW to Power Its Expansion Plans

In a recent announcement, Vancouver-based DMG Blockchain Solutions Inc. revealed that it had started to install its 85-megawatt (MW) capacity substation, which will sustain the expansion of its crypto mining facility.

When completed, the new 85-megawatt capacity transformer and an electric substation will be connected to the utility power grid and will aid in its expansion. DMG provides a vast number of products and services such as Mining-as-a-Service, forensics and blockchain analytics.

Recently, Mining-as-a-Service (Mass) has received more attention due to an increased number of companies setting up mining rigs for clients who wish to gain from mining without owning the hardware. Several companies including Bitmain and Genesis Mining currently offer Maas, yet DMG hopes to have greater market share upon the introduction of its 85-megawatt substation.

In the company’s opinion, the new substation, when fully launched in September, will “power the expansion of DMG’s flagship cryptocurrency mining facility.” The company also plans to become “one of the largest in North America,” and the new substation will improve the firm’s “hosting capability by more than 20 times.”

According to Sheldon Bennet, DMG’s COO:

“Building and managing a crypto mining operation at an industrial scale requires a world-class supply chain as well as direct access to local government and electricity providers. Our management team at DMG is unique in that we have the experience, the relationships, and the capital backing to do this successfully.”
