Pornhub Subsidiary Tube8 Offering Cryptocurrency For People To Watch Porn

Tube8, an adult entertainment platform, is using blockchain and tokenization technologies to pay visitors with cryptocurrency for watching videos on their website.

To make this possible, the Pornhub subsidiary is partnering with blockchain platform Vice Industry Token (VIT) for the overall tokenization of the website. This is a partnership that will allow users to get paid for watching videos on the website, including streaming.

This new development when launched by the end of 2018, will expose the entire TUube8 platform on the blockchain. It will also make Tube8 the first adult entertainment site to use token-based rewards and payment for website visitors.

Robin Turner, a Tube8 spokesperson referred to the even as a paradigm move and an achievement of a longtime pipedream.

“For as long as I can remember, getting paid to watch porn was always a pipedream; one that was always dreamed about, but never fully realized. Now, however, with the introduction of VIT, we are marking a paradigm shift in how people consume adult entertainment. As opposed to having to fork over money to consume content, which some sites require, our users will get paid to consume our free content. The more they interact with our videos, the more money they earn.”

This development goes to establish VIT’s presence in the adult entertainment industry. Even though Tube8 rejoices its partnership with the platform, there is already a legal battle between popular adult entertainment company, Playboy and this same VIT over non-fulfillment of a partnership contract with them some time ago.

Cryptocurrency in online pornography has been considered as a suitable implementation. This may be due to the level of privacy which the transaction processes provide for its users.
