Time Management Tips For Surveyors

Surveyor’s lives can be ruled by time, therefore it is highly important that his or her time is being managed properly, with there being only 24 hours in a day and all that. Check out these tips on how land surveyors can better manage their time.

#1. Planning

Prior to stepping out, all of your trips should be planned efficiently, whether it is to run errands, attend meetings or grabbing lunch. Instead of making three individual trips, combine your errands to one or two trips, grab lunch after or before your meeting or whilst running your errands.

#2. Limit technology usage

Technology is beneficial but not when you are trying to manage your time. However, there is an exception for software programs designed to save time. Put your phone on silence for optimal use or turn off alerts for social media applications. Only use your phone for something important at designated times.

#3. Know how to say “no”

If there is a request that is not in your best interest, turn it down. Saying “no” is necessary with time as a premium. Saying “yes” to all offers will only produce a result of low-quality work.

#4Keep a daily planner

Having a planner is very organized and it is always important to be organized. Carrying around a planner will let you keep track of time and things you need to get done. It shows what you have completed and haven’t completed, what is coming up and you will spot areas that need more attention in your daily life.

#5.Take breaks

Taking a break may be ironic as we are trying to save time but it is very effective to permit yourself a little break. Take short breaks, for 5 or 10 minutes to let your mind and body recharge and become more productive.

To be able to manage time successfully, you must have the ability to limit unnecessary thoughts and conversations, and at the same time maximizing on actions.
