Suncor Assures The Lack Of Gasoline Will Be Taken Care Of

Even since there has been a lack of fuel in the Western part of Canada, the petroleum company, Suncor Energy are trying their best to get their Edmonton processing factory in good condition to be able to refill the Petro-Canada filling stations.

The shortage of the fuel was due to the factory outage that occurred on the 27th of May, which led to a significantly low supply of diesel and gasoline. According to a spokeswoman for the company, it will take some time to stock up on fuel. One of the factors that contributed to the shortage was the supply disturbances from the Fort McMurray wildfire. This affected the Petro-Canada filling stations that are based in Winnipeg, to the British Columbia, which made the pumps drums while the internal showed zeros.

The company asked for outside help to help fill up their fuel and supply it via rail and truck to subside the shortage that also affected Shell and other competing filling stations at some point in time. The shutdown of two facilities in the United States Midwest led to the partial closure of the 142,000 barrels per day at the Edmonton refinery. Dan McTeaque, a Gasbuddy.com analyst confirmed this to be the reason behind a hike in Gas prices in Canada.

Suncor said they will continue to upgrade their manufacturing of crude in the Fort McMurray vicinity after the wildfire, and they hope to get things back as they were before the end of the month.
