UPS To Improve Route To Ensure Faster Delivery Time

Popular package delivery company, UPS, has made an announcement that it has plans to improve its routes from the U.S to Canada. The proposed developments will ensure that goods bought from retailers in the U.S will arrive one day sooner.

“Many retailers in the U.S. can now get their items to consumers in Quebec one day earlier and without extra costs,” said U.S. international president of UPS, Bill Seward. “Businesses across the Midwest and Western U.S. in all industries can better serve the needs of their Canadian customers by getting their ground shipments delivered one day faster.”

The route UPS is looking to develop is the ground network between Chicago and Quebec as well the Maritime Provinces. This will help make the delivery process more efficient as Canada happens to be the U.S’ largest trading partner. UPS annually facilitates over 6 million shipments into Canada and data from the U.S Census Bureau highlights that exports from Canada to the U.S totalled $281 billion in 2015 whilst imports reached $296 billion.

The usual time taken for packages to be delivered from UPS ranges from two to seven business days, with the timeframe explicitly depending on the package’s origin and destination.
