Starting in this maritime province, glacial rock mountains, fishing villages and scenic landscapes are a permanent fixture. Peggy’s Cove is the home of the famous lighthouse that was built in 1868.

While we are still in Nova Scotia, Cape Breton is a must-see especially if you are fan of Alistair MacLeod’s stories for the setting for most of his stories. So what else is there to do? You name it: hiking one either one of the 26 trails in Highland National Park; salmon fishing in the Margaree River; a day playing golf or even the Cycle the Cabot or Celtic Coastal Trails. Don’t forget the seafood, now. If you appreciate the sound of the waves crashing on the rocks, then why not give a stay at one of the inns or hotels around the Cabot Trail.
