New Record For Winnipeg Home Sales

In the course of last month, there were 1,696 homes that were sold via the MLS of Winnipeg Realtors, which peaked up to a new record high. Compared to May last year, the numbers showed a 4 per cent increase, with the total volume of the dollar being 8 per cent up to $499.4 million.

Blair Sonnichesen, the president of Winnipeg Realtors said; “The difference this year, as a result of tougher qualifying criteria for insured mortgages, is fewer residential-detached sales under $300,000. Offsetting them to some extent are gains in lower priced condominium sales.”

Over the year, the sales of Condo has gained 13 per cent, with single-family homes gone up by 25 per cent and town homes increased by 18 per cent.
