Starbucks Stands Up Against President Trump’s Immigration Order
How does Starbucks respond to President Trump’s islamophobic immigration changes? By releasing a statement saying that it will be hiring 10,000 refugees over the next 5 years giving “preference” to those who “served with the U.S. troops as interpreters and support personnel”.
This is all thanks to the company’s chairman and CEO, Howard Schultz.
His company is also going to support the coffee growers south of the border in Mexico by providing health insurance in cases where the eligible workers have their insurance repealed. CEO Schultz will also back Obama’s immigration program that permits young immigrants—who were brought against their will by their families across the border—a 2-year reprieve from deportation and a work permit.
Businesses are fighting back at the Trump presidency and this is just one of many to come.
President Donald J. Trump has also made it clear that big name companies such as Apple, Boeing will bring back jobs to America and hire “Americans”.
