Toronto Leads With Highest New Home Prices

The cost of recently constructed houses in Canada went up in January by 0.1 per cent compared to December last year, with a year-over-year increase of 3.1 per cent.

It was obvious that the markets clearly were diversified, with the national average (0.2) which saw a double increase for the month and in that same period, Vancouver saw 0.1 per cent decline even though the year-over-year went up by 3.6 per cent.

For about half of the 27 cities with increased latest house prices that were covered in Statistics Canada’s info, six stayed the same while seven other cities’ house prices went down. The figures shown was not for condos and apartments, just houses.
